Halloween 4K Movie, Blu-ray Release Date Revealed

First five Halloween the film is headed to 4K in this new collector’s issue later this year by Shout! Factory, just in time for the latest entry into the franchise, Halloween Murder. 43 years after the first Halloween a cinema hit in 1978, a classic horror film by a master filmmaker John Carpenter finally received the long overdue 4K release.

The five films that will be re-released are Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween III: Season of Witches, Halloween 4: Return of Michael Myers, and Halloween 5: Michael Myers’ Revenge. Each film will include a limited edition rigid slipcase and cover art from the artist Joel Robinson, AND 7” vinyl will be released from the first three featuring new music from Carpenter.

Original Halloween feature returns to the original camera negative for the first time. This breakout horror film sets the stage on Halloween night when Michael Myers begins butchering teens in a quiet neighborhood after escaping from a mental hospital. The last girl Laurie (played by the face of the franchise Jamie Lee Curtis) fights for his life as Myers gets past his friends. Special features include:

Halloween II takes place right where the first film ends, as Michael Myers is still very much alive and out for revenge at Haddonfield Hospital, as he searches for his arch-enemy, Dr. Loomis. Although Carpenter did not direct the sequel, he has writing and music credits, and was heavily involved in the creative process. Special features include:

Halloween III: Season of Witches is the only film in the franchise that doesn’t feature Michael Myers, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less scary. The film follows Dr. Daniel Challis and Ellie as they team up to thwart the evil plans of Conal Cochran, who wears a scary pumpkin mask when he kills trick-or-treaters. Special features include:

Halloween 4: Return of Michael Myers, unsurprisingly, features the return of Michael Myers as he targets Laurie Strode’s daughter, Jamie, and her nanny, Rachel. Dr Loomis also returns to fight Michael before he is able to kill the innocent young children of Haddonfield. Special features include:

Halloween 5: Michael Myers’ Revenge continues to follow the endless terrorism Michael Myers inflicted on Haddonfield, as he apparently survived the explosion of the mine that was thought to have killed him. Jamie learns that she has a bond with Michael, and Dr. Loomis plans to use it as bait in a trap at Myers’ childhood home. Special features include:
