Several previews have been shown for Atlus Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster and since then we have learned a lot more about the game Factions. However, PS4 and PC players should pay attention – RPGs are locked to 30 frames per second on both platforms. WCCF Tech confirmed this in a preview for the PS4 version (which runs on PS5).
RPG Site senior staff writer Josh Torres also revealed on Twitter that the PC version runs at 30 FPS. A small gameplay clip is attached with the Steam frame counter on the top left counter showing the same. On the plus side, the PS4 version seems to run at a stable frame rate on the PS5. Some aliasing is logged but not to the extent of, say, Persona 5: Striker.
It remains to be seen if the PC version can unlock its frame rates via mods. Meanwhile, Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster slated for release on May 25 for PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
I’ve touched on a bit of the upcoming PC port of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne on Steam. Sad to report that it is indeed capped at 30fps. I’ve taken a small snippet of gameplay early in the game with the Steam FPS counter on the top left (sorry it’s so small). pic.twitter.com/FRGrMJoF89
